Rutting Season

September to November is the rutting season for deer.

During this time, the deer could demonstrate aggressive tendencies in the spirit of competing for a doe.  It is recommended you have dogs in loads if you are walking in an area where deer could be.

Also as we are so fortunate to have a lot of deer in our forests, while driving through forest areas, please pay attention to your speed and try to keep an eye open for deer as they are more likely to dart  out in the road.
