Local Elections to go ahead

Fourth issue of new Ongar magazine 

The third issue of the new Ongar Local Life magazine is out now.

 

Full of local information, events and businesses.

The  Secretary of State for Housing, Communities, and Local Government on 22nd January 2026  confirmed that local elections for Epping Forest District Council  will go ahead as planned on 7th May .

Changes to Garden & Food Waste

Epping Forest District Council have recently confirmed the green-lidded bin will be for garden waste only from 31 March and will require a subscription of £60.

 

As well as the introduction of a garden waste subscription service, from 31st March, food waste will be collected separately in a new brown kerbside caddy.

 

Households will receive 2 new food caddies:

  • 7L kitchen caddy – for scraps indoors
  • 23L kerbside caddy – for collection outside

Until then, the food and garden waste will be collected in the green bin.
